What subjects do you offer?

Charterhouse Online supports all subjects across major GCSE and A-level exam boards.

Supported by leading educators in their fields, students are empowered to build a curriculum that reflects their individual interests and ambitions.

New subjects introduced this year also include Music Technology, Film Studies, and Design Technology A-Levels, and GCSE Drama.

Pupils are encouraged to pursue their interests, regardless of how specialised they may be.

Will Charterhouse Online support higher education pathways?

We provide comprehensive guidance for university applications, including:

  • UCAS applications and personal statements
  • Course selection and predicted grades
  • Academic references
  • Interview preparation

Additional preparation programmes for Oxbridge and competitive courses are available.

How flexible is the learning experience?

Flexibility is one of the defining features of Charterhouse Online.

Timetables are tailored to individual needs while maintaining strong structure and accountability.

Lessons are delivered live online by specialist tutors and may include:

  • One-to-one or small-group teaching
  • Directed independent study
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Exam-focused revision

All lessons are recorded for review.

How many students are in each class?

Class sizes are intentionally small to maximise individual attention and academic progress. Most programmes are one-to-one, available with a supplement to facilitate personalisation.

This level of individual focus allows teachers to adapt pace, depth and explanation in real time, an aspect of teaching usually more difficult in larger school environments.

Is support available for students with access arrangements?

Yes. We can support the administration and processing of access arrangements, including:

  • Extra time
  • Rest breaks
  • Use of a laptop
  • Reader or scribe arrangements
  • Other approved examination accommodations

This process may involve additional assessment and administration costs depending on the student’s circumstances and existing documentation.

Will students be able to access Charterhouse provisions if lessons are primarily online?

Students benefit from potential access to Charterhouse facilities, including science laboratories for Practical Endorsements, as well as additional enrichment opportunities beyond assessment requirements.

Facilities include:

  • Science laboratories and technical support
  • Music production classrooms
  • STEM and future pathways resources
  • Exam provision for mocks and final examinations
  • Coursework/NEA support
